Vejam,\u00a0 por exemplo, o Manual\u00a0 <strong>A Lingu\u00edstica no S\u00e9culo XXI<\/strong>,\u00a0 que tem um formato original e procura dar mais agentividade ao leitor que se inicia nos estudos lingu\u00edsticos.\u00a0 H\u00e1 tamb\u00e9m na lista muitos cap\u00edtulos inseridos em \u00f3timos livros voltados \u00e0 gradua\u00e7\u00e3o e ao p\u00fablico em geral interessado em Lingu\u00edstica.\u00a0 Primeiro mostramos os livros escritos ou organizados por n\u00f3s. Apresenta um conjunto de conhecimentos dispon\u00edveis na \u00e1rea, com o objetivo de situar o leitor quanto \u00e0s quest\u00f5es mais relevantes do debate interdisciplinar sobre a cogni\u00e7\u00e3o de linguagem no homem, ressaltando os pontos consensuais entre as abordagens te\u00f3ricas dispon\u00edveis e tamb\u00e9m corajosamente apontando as diverg\u00eancias entre elas, de forma clara e did\u00e1tica. Nesse sentido, foram selecionados tr\u00eas temas mais formadores de converg\u00eancia para compor a Parte I. Em seguida, na Parte II, tr\u00eas dicotomias que ressaltam as diverg\u00eancias s\u00e3o expostas em detalhes. Cada um dos seis cap\u00edtulos tem um texto principal, nos quais ideias fundamentais s\u00e3o expostas de modo panor\u00e2mico. Em seguida, dois textos de apoio aprofundam as ideias do texto principal. Um dos destaques \u00e9 a discuss\u00e3o sobre o acesso lexical \u2014 o processo r\u00e1pido e complexo pelo qual reconhecemos e compreendemos palavras \u2014 e como esse processo \u00e9 sustentado por redes neurais especializadas. Tamb\u00e9m \u00e9 abordada a aquisi\u00e7\u00e3o da linguagem na inf\u00e2ncia, destacando o papel dos per\u00edodos cr\u00edticos de plasticidade cerebral e as contribui\u00e7\u00f5es de abordagens nativistas e estat\u00edsticas. Por fim, o cap\u00edtulo apresenta dois estudos de caso brasileiros de cirurgias cerebrais de cr\u00e2nio aberto com o paciente acordado, nas quais a fonoaudiologia foi fundamental para preservar as fun\u00e7\u00f5es lingu\u00edsticas durante a ressec\u00e7\u00e3o de tumores. A obra mostra como o campo evoluiu de modelos estritamente localizacionistas para uma compreens\u00e3o din\u00e2mica e distribu\u00edda da linguagem no c\u00e9rebro, promovendo um di\u00e1logo entre neuroci\u00eancia, lingu\u00edstica, fonoaudiologia e cl\u00ednica. It has revealed a much tighter interface between biology and linguistic behavior than it once did back in 1951, the year that counts as its historical inauguration during the Social Science Research Council Conference at Cornell University.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"background-color: #ffffff; color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight );\">In Brazil, the field started some twenty years after it had started in the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight );\">US and Europe. So, since the late 7O&#8217;s early 80&#8217;s, we have been growing into an interdisciplinary wealth of researchers. The Psycholinguistics Workgroup of ANPOLL (National Association of Graduate Programs and Research in Languages and Linguistics) was the first Brazilian Psycholinguistics forum. &#8211; It was created in 1987, during a Curitiba Meeting, and had Professor Leonor Scliar as its first coordinator and mentor. Our Workgroup will hold next year its\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight );\">22nd biennial meeting. It currently gathers 25 researchers from several Brazilian Universities as well as over 40 graduate students.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"background-color: #ffffff;\">This book with the proceedings of the event has nine chapters covering different areas of Psycholingufstics. Although it shows a lot of what was presented in the meeting, it stands just as a sample of the activities that took\u00a0<span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight );\">place from 8:30 am to 7 pm in the mini-courses, symposia, lectures, posters and debates. Most importantly, the many accounts in it help experimentalists to make the point that there is &#8220;no escape from experimenting with syntax&#8221; since we cannot be aware of the many syntax-semantic decisions we take in splits of second and cannot account for the number of balls in the game when we are speaking and understanding speech in real time (Cf.Rodrigues, 2010, Chapter 9.2 in this volume). However, the on-line electrophysiological test suggested that once participants were engaged in the recursive algorithm, subsequent embeddings seemed to be facilitated. In PP embedding, it more salient ERP component was found dooms after the first PP, probably connected in the&#8217; recursion condition with integration efforts. In contrast, the Ndoo in coordination was less salient. Crucially, in comparison with the first embedded PP, the next embedded PP shows shorter latencies in all the relevant regions of interest, demonstrating that the processing of the PPs seems to be facilitated after one enters the recursive mode. Based on these results, the authors conclude that recursion can be viewed as the result of an algorithm that is costly to launch, but once established, does not pose increasing effort for the system.
